How to Enhance the Sky Using a GradientIn this video tutorial I talk about the post-processing methods of enhancing the sky after you've already taken your picture. The first method is a simple blue gradient in Adobe Camera RAW, but you can also create gradients using the same method in Lightroom. If you're using Photoshop, you can use the same technique of choosing multiple colors to use in your gradient to give your sky more variety.
Darken the Sky or Brighten Your SubjectIn the video I talk about exposing for the sky rather than your subject so you can easily brighten up your subject in post processing, but I've found it works just as well or better to expose your subject nicely so you can darken the sky in post processing instead.
Combine Exposures of the Sky AND Your SubjectThe last thing I show you is how to use two different exposures of your picture by creating two jpg images and overlapping them in Photoshop. I feel like I kind of rushed over the layers and masks explanation, but you can get an in depth tutorial on layers and masks in the Portrait Photography Tutorials video we sell in our shop.
